Martin Arnold
b 1959 in Vienna, Austria; studied Psychology and Art History at the Vienna University; works since 1988 as filmmaker; 1995 guest professorship at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee; 1996-1997 guest professorship at the San Francisco Art Institute; 1998–1999 guest professorship at the Academy of Fine Arts, Frankfurt/Main; lives and works in Vienna.
Martin Arnold is one of Austria’s most distinguished filmmakers in the area of structural and experimental short films. His works consistently pivot on a clearly-structured and conceptual orientation using principles of rhythm, fast forward, and rewind, and effectively exploit aura-generating components of well-known Hollywood films.
