b 1952 in Ahlen; 1974–78 intensive work with music, theatre, photography and Super-8-Film; 1979–82 trained as a metalworker and electric welder; 1982–86 studied at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (DFFB); 1990–92 taught at the DFFB, and at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen «Konrad Wolf» Babelsberg, and at the Fachhochschule Würzburg; edited the television magazine «VAMP» from 1991; 1991–1996 director of the video studio at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe; 1996–2002 artistic and scientific advisor to the television and film course at the Kunsthochschule für Medien, Cologne; since 2002 professor for Video at the University of Applied Sciences, Mainz; lives in Wiesbaden.
