b 1893 in Frankfurt am Main (D) - died 1965 in Australien;
After his art studies in Stuttgart at Adolf Hölzel in 1920 Hirschfeld–Mack changed to the Bauhaus where he got an employee in the pre-course of theory of colours. After his studies he got assistant professor at severals schools. In 1935 he emigrated to Great Britain, from 1940 until the end of his life he lived in australia.
