Adriene Jenik

Cross-platform, telecommunications media artist, who has worked as a hybrid artist, educator, programmer, engineer and community media activist. She received her BA in English from Douglass College, Rutgers University (1986) and her MFA in Electronic Arts from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA (1996). Jenik's artistic projects exist outside of the purely aesthetic or entertainment realms, and much of her work has been collectively or collaboratively produced, and often serves as a catalyst of community and social movement and interpersonal understanding during its creation and reception. Distribution outlets have encompassed television, clubs, bars, and city streets in addition to screenings and events in more traditional cultural and educational venues.
