 Douglas Davis
«Austrian Tapes»

My works from the 70s, like the «Austrian Tapes» and the «Florence Tapes», were not just tapes but interactive performances. In the first I ask the audience to touch my hands on the screen with your hands, chests, backs, etc., and to think about whether we are really touching. In the second, I ask you to completely disrobe with me and put your feet up on the screen against my feet and ask yourself: «Who is up, who is down?»
