«Télévision»

In César’s sculptures the context of Nouveau Réalisme emerges from industrial materials. Through the process of compression, wrecked cars, for example, become sculptures. In the object presented here such a piece of compressed wreckage acts as a pedestal, combined with a functional television stripped of its housing. The entire object is covered with a Plexiglas hood, with holes for the antenna, speakers and control buttons.
