«Under White Fabric»
The title of the film alludes both to the bridal veil and the bandaged, sewn up and packed human body. Painter Cornelia Schleimer varies the possibilities of sewing up and the surreal significance of the prescribed motifs as if in a pattern book. She also develops her other S-8 films according to the same motif. They were all made between 1982 and 1984. Drawing on elements of theatre and performance, the main images from the poetic scene are mixed with a montage that is either associative or brusquely interrupts the various courses of action.
