 Rosemarie Trockel
«Video Installations»

Whether it takes the form of a grid of many monitors hanging from the ceiling or of an arrangement of parallel projections, model form is accorded to the qualities of unmanageability, overlapping and mutual interference in the presentation of her videos. Mixing references is the chief characteristic of Rosemarie Trockel's work, rather than neat division into particular spaces. But since 1994 she has presented an increasing number of videotapes in public, most recently in her large individual exhibition in the German pavilion at the 1999 Venice Biennial.
