 Julia Scher

b 1954 in Hollywood (USA); has been a visiting lecture and artist in residence at a number of institutions including: New York University (USA); Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and DAS Arts, Amsterdam (NL), currently she holds the post of Visiting Faculty; Visual Arts Program, Department of Architecture at the Massachussetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge (USA); lives and works in Boston (USA).
Julia Scher's work focuses on the subjects surveillance and cyber-sphere. Aiming at the exposure of dangers and ideologies of monitoring systems, Scher creates temporary and transitory web/installation/performance works that explore issues of power, control and seduction.
