 Tom Wesselmann

b in 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio (USA); studies of psychology at the University of Cincinnati and art at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, 1955–56, and at the Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture 1956–1959, initially influenced by Abstract Expressionism; started exhibiting in 1961 gradually becoming an influential representative of Pop Art. Most of his works deal with nudes and still lifes, including brash collages, assemblages and modelled on advertising catalogs.
