*1964 in Wittlich (D); 1983–91 studied film and media theory, Russian language and literature in Marburg and Moscow (RUS); 1992–93 director of the interActiva festival for new media, Cologne; since 1995 lecturer and academic collaborator for new media and media art at Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen HFF, Babelsberg; 1997 artist-in-residence at Ars Electronica Center, Linz (A); teaching assignments in, among other places, Leipzig, San Sebastian (E), Lisbon School of Art (P); has lectured widely and participated in diverse international exhibitions; lives in Manchester (GB).
