«Between»

A summer afternoon full of daydreams. Sexual fantasies are embodied in black-and-white images of androgynous bodies. The boundary between images of reality and fantasy becomes blurred, gender is subjected to playful mutations. «Between» favours the fragmentation of the body, surreal sequences and ambivalent symbolism. The desire for an eccentric staging of the body was a dominant feature of the '80s. The voicing of an untamed «desire» – to make a reference to a central term of the aesthetic and femininst discourse of the '80s – had its impact on film productions which, following the model of Maya Deren's films of the '40s, for example, formulated a different female perspective.
