«The Dancing Cavalier»
This photo is one of the few documentary records of a Rebecca Horn performance explicitly deploying the video medium. In the scope of a video symposium in Tokyo, Rebecca Horn returns in 'The Dancing Cavalier’ to scenes and objects used in a 45-minute film of the same title in 1978. The scenes are also poetical moments influenced by the Japanese environment: a table oscillates through the room, a ballet dancer balances an egg. Two cameras simultaneously transfer these scenes to the monitors facing the public.
