In six editions to date the magazine ‘Scrollheim' has presented and publicized theories and texts on art and media, assuming various forms in the process. No. 1, a print journal, was followed in 1992 by a television broadcast titled 'This is the Art Police Speaking – Art under Surveillance', which was aired on the Berlin access channel 'Offener Kanal', together with a special booklet. No. 2 was integrated into the anthology CD-ROM 'Worldmedia Interactive'. Nos. 3 and 4 were CD-ROMs in their own right, and contain anthologies of texts by various authors. No. 5, a special edition, appeared in book form as 'An Artist's Theory of the Universal Machine. The art potential of the computer in relation to its application, use, animation + installation'. Authored by H-P Karl Dimke, it was accepted as a Ph.D. thesis even if it was also an 'art' product. The interactive animation presented here contains a selection of texts from previous editions.
