«World I/II»

A cavernous world in which souls alternately flee from and engage the viewer. An early artistic experiment with VR-technology by Jenny Holzer, commissioned by the Guggenheim Museum. The work has two parts: «World I» presents the human face as a dice to be played with, retreating on touch. «World II» plays with psychedelic allusions to the aesthetics of cyberspace but combines this abstract landscape with a moral intention and critique on war technology, voiced by female voices from Bosnia speaking about sexual abuses during the war.
